Creating an Art Nouveau Style Room

Art Nouveau interior design as a style originated in the end of the 19th century as a reaction to the fast growing industrialisation of society. There was a general fear that the modern breakthroughs would destroy the true art forms. At the same time, Victorian decorating style was fading, as it was considered cluttered and heavy at the time.

Art Nouveau tried to remove the clutter and bring light and space into rooms. Compared to Victorian style it was certainly a minimalist movement but also very different from later minimalist and modernist styles, through the use of natural decorations and soft colours.

Art Nouveau decorated rooms can be recognised by their use of light and airy colours. It did away with Victorian style heavy painting and chairs to fill out wall space. Instead patterned wall paper grew in popularity because of the cheaper costs of manufacturing. therefore the wallpaper would often be left to be seen for its own design and not covered.

Colours were light but muted, such as olive, sage or different types of brown. A reaction to the heavy dark and red colours of the Victorian style, that could have almost a suffocating feeling of claustrophobia!

Other decorating items commonly used, were all kind of stylised plants, flowers and stems painted or decorated on walls and paintings.

Art Nouveau is also characterised by the focus on natural finish in furniture. Before the Art Nouveau movement, chairs and desks were often made from heavy dark mahogany. Art Nouveau furniture on the other hand used primarily oak and satin wood. The ideal Art Nouveau furniture would have simple natural curves offset by other straight lines in the room.

As Art Nouveau is a relatively new style, it is still possible to buy original pieces on auctions at a reasonable cost. Reproductions are also common.

Stained glass become popular as decorating items during this period, the most prominent example perhaps the Tiffany Lamp that has a lamp shade in stained glass. Today, authentic Tiffany Lamps are expensive, but several companies sell reproductions at affordable prices.

Window dressing Art Nouveau style was a significant change to Victorian Style. Where as before, windows would be excessively draped in soft furnishings and ornament to almost conceal them, Art Nouveau aims to bring light into the room and focus on the window itself.

Art Nouveau is a rather easy and inexpensive style to decorate your home. Wooden furniture, coloured wallpapers with floral designs and simple but decorative window curtains in light fabrics. Curtains can have prefabricated designs in traditional design, or you can buy a fabric like silk and paint on your own custom design if you enjoy adding customised and bespoke touches to a room.

Because straight vertical lines were very popular in Art Nouveau style, the curtains should hang straight down and without curtain hold backs. The curtains can have lining or no lining, depending on the weight of the fabric. Art Nouveau curtains are available in many shops and online as part of retailers ready made curtain lines. Alternatively you could buy Art Nouveau fabric and make your own unique curtains.

Are you Being Dumped? Go for a Makeover

There are certain, crucial moments in life when you are forced to re-evaluate how you feel about yourself, and how you present yourself to the world. Going through the painful break-up of a relationship is the time you most begin to question everything from the colour of your hair to the books you have on your Bedside Table. Someone has decided you are unlovable, that they cannot bear to set eyes on you ever again. So an awful, gnawing, nagging doubt inevitably begins to fester. Sounds weird, but it’s great to have a stylish life and to undergo a makeover if you are dumped by your spouse, recently. Never mind, if he or she does not come back to check you out.

If you thought that the tips for post-break-up fabulousness are all designed to snare another man, forget it. The new rules for living post break-up are designed to boost your self-esteem, not his, whether you are suddenly single, bored with how you look, or just in need of a spring clean.

1) Take a long, hard look at you in a full-length mirror in daylight. What can be fIxed, what needs to be disguised and what deserves to be celebrated? A bit of objective criticism can be a springboard to a new you, so ask a good friend to be honest about what you could do to improve your appearance.

2) Look at the contents of your wardrobe. What outfIts do you have that are age-inappropriate, or too comfy, or old, or sloppy, or badly fitting?

3) Next, buy a new outfit. Spend on yourself and set you eyes on higher-end, luxurious products. As you are once again single, dressing up would enhance your beauty and self-esteem. More so, you should keep telling yourself- ‘I am dressing well because I love myself and because I am worth it’.

4) Take up a new form of exercise. Try to remove that extra flab. Start feeling healthy from within. You also have to be calm, cheerful and confident. Don’t exercise just to get in shape, but do something that injects some joy into your life, as well.

5) Try on something you’d never normally wear, such as a pair of khaki shorts, high-waist jeans, or a shift dress. If you habitually wore white and black, it would be a good idea to shift to a purple satin shirt or a shocking pink skirt. Your something new could be anything from a new shade of lip gloss to a hot pink thong, or a pair of yellow patent platforms when people are used to seeing you wearing normal navy flats.

6) Learn to draw a line between you and the past. Do not re-run conversations in your head, or have imaginary arguments. Do not sit by the phone waiting for it to spring into life, or drive around the area in which he now lives in your open-top car, just in case you might spot him.

7) Do not wail. Do not think – ‘He will never appreciate how you look today, so why bother? Why not just wear a denim boiler suit and have done with it?’ Nothing lifts the spirits, wreaks revenge and invites possibility more than knowing you look bloody fantastic.

Electronic Smog

Electronic smog is caused by the electricity that powers our civilization. It is an invisible smog which is linked to depression, miscarriage and cancer. Ironically electronic smog increases with advancement in technology, making more and more people allergic to electricity. This type of allergy causes nausea, pain, dizziness, depression and difficulties in sleeping and concentration among people who use electrical appliances or go near cell phone masts. Electronic smog is the continuously growing quantity of electromagnetic radiation (EMR), which, according to WHO estimates, affects up to three in every 100 people.

Mindboggling Range of Spectrum

The range of the electromagnetic spectrum is mind bogglingly vast. At one end of the scale are fields with frequencies of several seconds, and at the other frequencies of billions of times a second. The highest frequencies known are 50,000,000,000,000,000,000 Hertz (pulses per second). Scientists estimate that our daily exposure to radiation is 100 million times higher than it was in our grandparents’ time. Some people react to even very low levels of exposure, often to specific items. Our body goes through a lot of electric activity. It uses electric impulses to transmit signals between nerves. Electromagnetic interferences can seriously affect these activities. Everyday electronic items such as television, radio, and microwave, create a magnetic field around them and can affect human body. And this level of smog will only increase further with advances in technology

Disruptive to Body’s Natural Energy Fields

Scientists have shown that EMRs can be disruptive to the human body’s own natural energy fields. Their waves are not blocked or weakened by objects in their way and they enter our body and upset its cellular function and biological processes. EMR can cause headaches, tiredness and even immune system disorders. Appliances which have proximity to the human head, like electric hair dryers, shavers and bedside digital alarms, are more dangerous. This is the reason why sensitivity to a computer screen is common, as we sit near to them, but sensitivity to television sets is less common, as we are usually six or more feet away from them. The World Health Organization considers electronic smog “one of the most common and fastest growing environmental influences.” Too much electronic smog causes our body’s electric field to become unbalanced, to slow down, to darken in spots, to stagnate, resulting in sickness and premature death. According to scientists, the electrical fields given off by a wide variety of household items, including computers, televisions, cookers, Lamps and even wiring, charge minuscule particles in the air such as viruses, bacteria, allergens and highly toxic pollutants. These particles are tiny. Being less than 80 times the thickness of a human hair, they are constantly airborne and we breathe them in all the time.

Effects on Children

International Agency for Research on Cancer, a segment of the WHO, has classified electronic smog as a “possible human carcinogen” and the University of New York’s School of Public Health is of the opinion that electronic smog can cause up to 30% of all childhood cancers. A study by the National Radiological Protection Board, UK, has linked electronic smog to leukemia in children. The Health Protection Agency, Britain’s top health protection watchdog, has warned against the ill effects of Wi-Fi networks on children as this system is increasingly being set up in British schools.

Cell Phone Radiation

According to a Swedish study, because of intense usage of cell phones, the present generation of teenagers runs the risk of becoming senile by middle age. A study by Finnish scientists reported 40 percent increase in the risk of developing brain tumor for those using cell phones for over ten years. They are likely to be affected on that side of the head where they hold the phone to talk. Most scientists agree that children below the age of eight should not be allowed to use a cell phone. Recent research has found a dangerous association between cell phone and a man’s sperm quality. It has been found that the more hours a man spends on his cell phone leads to lower sperm count and greater percentage of abnormal sperm.

Ways to Increase Resistance to EMR Damage

  • Increase intake of antioxidants, melatonin, vitamins B, C, E and folic acid as these are natural oxidative stress fighters
  • Fish, poultry, meat and tap water are main sources of heavy metal ingestion. Find out the source of these items before consumption. Eat fresh, chemical-free, organic meats, fruits and vegetables. Test for allergic responses.
  • Avoid or minimize caffeine and alcoholic beverages, especially distilled liquor.
  • Drink carbon filtered water possibly in glass or ceramic containers. Limit water in plastic bottles. Use recycled paper products for drinking and eating; avoid plastic or Styrofoam.
  • Exercise increases metabolism. Breathe slowly and deeply. Surround yourself with nature as often as possible.
  • Replace bright and fluorescent light with subdued full-spectrum/natural incandescent bulbs or candle light as much as possible. Increase melatonin naturally by sleeping in the darkest room possible.
  • Get up to a couple hours of sun exposure

How To Avoid Electronic Smog

  • Minimize usage cell phones, cordless phones, and WiFi devices.
  • Do not keep cell phones near your head. Turn it off when you are not using it and keep 6-7 feet gap between yourself and any part of your body. Never use it to play games, movies, etc.
  • When using the cell phone wear air tube headsets
  • Avoid keeping cell phone in pocket, purse, back or on hip all day. Close proximity to the hip may also affect fertility because the hip produces 80% of the body’s red blood cells and is especially vulnerable to EMR damage.
  • Pregnant women, women with a baby/small child in arms, and those under age 16, should avoid cell phone use when in a vehicle (car, train, plane, subway) as radiation gets trapped and is higher in these closed metal zones. Cordless phone base emits high levels of EMR even when not in use. So it is advised to replace them with wired, corded lines (phones, Internet, games, appliances, devices, etc.).
  • Minimize use of computers use, sit as far away from the screen as possible; preferably use flat screens. Use wired Internet connections, not WiFi – especially for laptops. Keep laptops off of the body and away from metal surfaces.
  • Keep alarm clock away. Keep radio at least 3 feet from head or use battery power. It is recommended that you keep at least 6 feet distance from all electronic devices during sleep. Avoid waterbeds, electric blankets and metal bed frames. Futons/wood frames are better than metal-coiled mattresses and box-springs.
  • When using electric stoves, cook on back burners instead of front, as much as possible. Keep away from metals as they attract EMR.

Bedside Table Glass

The Do’s And Don’ts Of Prescription Glasses

Even though prescription lenses are supposed to be replaced every 2 years, many people want to make them last as long as possible. By taking good care of your eyeglasses you will have to replace them less often. We will take a look into the most common mistakes people make with their glasses and the proper way to take care of them.

DON’T

Don’t wash your glasses in hot water. Many prescription eyeglass lenses have a protective coating over them and washing them in how water can cause this coating to crack and peel off. The hot water can also warp the lenses and cause them to twist the frames or pop out of the frames.

Don’t use an abrasive soap or brush to clean your prescription glasses. You may have selected scratch resistant lenses, but that does not mean that you can purposefully rub an abrasive substance on the lenses that they will not get scratched up. It means that during your normal day to day activities if you accidentally drop the glasses or put them lens side down on a desk that they should not get scratched.

Don’t put your glasses in your Pants pockets. You would think that people would not need to be told this, but many people like to stick their glasses in  their pants packets when they are walking around the office and then they forget and sit on them.

Don’t leave your glasses in the sun. Today most lenses are not made from glass, they are made from plastics. Even if they are sunglasses the heat of the sun beating down on the frames and lenses will warp them to the point that you will not be able to see through them.

DO’S

Do wash your glasses in cool water. The cool water, no warmer than room temperature, will help to keep the protective coating on the lenses clean and intact. This will allow you to use the glasses and protect your eyes for the entire time you own the glasses.

Do wash your glasses with non abrasive soap and a soft lint free cloth. The soap will help to clean any dirt or grime on the lenses and the soft cloth will dry the lenses without covering them in lint. This will also stop the lenses from getting scratched during the cleaning process and will keep you seeing clearly for the lifetime of the glasses.

Do keep your glasses in their case. Chances are you will not sit on and break your glasses if you keep them in the case. Most of the time when glasses get sat on it is the wearer removed their glasses and instead of putting them in their case they placed them on the couch or chair then left the area and returned to find someone else sitting on them of you forget that you left them on the chair and CRUNCH – time for new glasses!

Do take your glasses with you wherever you go. If you go out take your glasses out also. Getting into this habit of always taking them with you will protect you from mistakes like leaving them in the car on a hot summer day, or leaving them on the Bedside Table on the say you are supposed to give a big speech in front of hundreds of people. Remember the glasses only work when you are wearing them. Just owning them is not enough.

Paying attention to this list will make it simple for you to take good care of your prescription and non prescription glasses.

Art Nouveau Lamps

Art Nouveau Design Styles And Interiors

The Art Nouveau design style made its appearance during the last ten years of the nineteenth century. At the time Victorian design and decoration was truly excessive, and people were secretly looking for something with perhaps a little less “clutter”.

Art Nouveau design was born out of that desire to simplify things.

There was a general movement towards making rooms lighter and altogether less cluttered. This was reflected in the newly popular, paler paint colors for walls that were in strong contrast to the previously fashionable, darker shades and were seen as fresh and airy by comparison.

To provide interest, a paper or painted frieze might have been added at the ceiling line and borders above the skirting/base board were not unusual. Architectural embellishments were few. Dados diminished in popularity, but a picture rail or plate rack at approximately eye level might have been featured. Pilasters and paneling were also sometimes applied, especially if they could be employed to emphasize the vertical. Wallpapers, mostly depicting botanical themes, continued to be favored, particularly now that their cost was much reduced as a result of machine-manufacture.

Plain window and door glazing now gave way to more decorative treatments. Stained glass featuring geometric patterns or representations of botanical subjects was popular.

The latter part of the nineteenth century saw a decline in the fashion for large area rugs. These were often removed in favor of wood floors, both board and parquet, which were frequently covered with faded oriental carpets.

Art Nouveau Furniture

Plush curtain treatments and deeply buttoned upholstery were eschewed by the followers of the New Art. In their stead simpler furnishings were in evidence.

Attention was directed to the windows themselves rather than to how they were dressed. Pelmets, if they were used, were now flat and of simple design, otherwise lengths of fabric would be simply gathered and suspended from a plain wooden pole. With the emphasis on vertical lines, the curtains were frequently full length and rarely caught in a tie-back.

Furniture designs were pared down to a more basic form and were usually constructed from oak or satin-wood for a lighter look than the traditional mahogany. These items would have a simple wax finish and the grain was much in evidence. Cutouts, often in the form of a heart, inlaid work and simple carving were the principal embellishments to be seen.

Other items of art nouveau furniture, in the Mackintosh manner, were highly stylized, and chairs with their exaggerated ladder-backs were often painted black.

Lighting And Accessories

Probably the first item that springs to mind when Art Nouveau is mentioned is the Tiffany Lamp. Its skilled American creator, L. C. Tiffany, who also designed whole houses (appropriately enough, for someone whose middle name was Comfort), produced some of the loveliest colored and leaded glass Lamps to be seen. Although electricity became available during this period (to those who could afford it), in general the appearance of light fittings varied little from those fittings previously designed for gas.

Far fewer accessories were displayed, the emphasis being on objects made from silver, copper, ceramic, glass, bronze and pewter.

i could not afford much at this time but i found a Tiffany Lamp on sale for $50.00 , new . my brother will be getting married in February , and i know they need furniture and home furnishings. i bought this lamp and it has 3 tulips { the bulbs are in the tulip cups } and a dragonfly. this is the first time he has been married and me being on a budget , i am just wondering if this is appropriate ? anyone have other suggestions … especially something cheap but maybe needed ? thank-you in advance for all suggestions and comments.
ok , i need to add … she lives in an old farmhouse at the moment .. and it has very little as far as modern decor. they are getting married at the courthouse in feb. so there will not be a wedding { they can not afford it } and there will be no bridal registary. they are just needing basics and she likes the color green { the lamp has green tulips and a red dragonfly } and will look fine placed on a small tabletop alone. hope this info. helps.

I think it is a very nice gift.

Alabaster Table Lamps

alabaster table lamps

Lighting Fixture Types – Basic 101 for Beginners

We will begin our discussion of lighting fixtures with trends and ideas related to the primary types of indoor lighting used today in most contemporary settings. Please keep in mind that these are just the authors’ opinions and there are a wide variety of other considerations when selecting lighting fixtures for your home or for your office.

Ceiling Fixtures

Remember that when we speak of Wattage we are talking about a measure of the amount of energy a bulb actually uses. This should not be confused with the brightness that the fixture generates. If increased brightness were a prime consideration it would be best to choose a bulb with higher lumens. If you do this, you will satisfy your need for adequate brightness for the area being considered.

Among the most popular areas for ceiling fixtures is in the bathroom.

Wall Fixtures

Wall fixtures are frequently used as accent pieces and to illuminate areas that aren’t brightened enough by larger fixtures such as chandeliers, etc. A wall fixture in a foyer or hallway or even on a stairway can add just the right amount of illumination to promote safety as well as a nice decorating touch. One of the things to consider is the wide variety and styles available today in these fixtures. The goal is to not draw attention to the wall fixture but rather to make it fit in to the overall decorating scheme. In other words, you want it to look like it belongs there.

If you have a fairly small area that is used primarily as a living room and if this area has lighter walls, to make the space look more spacious, less ambient light will be needed in contrast to a living area that is fairly large or which has darker wall covering or wood. Wall fixtures strategically placed in various sizes and styles offer the discriminating homeowner the perfect way to create tasteful ambient lighting.

If a bathroom area is large enough, tasteful, understated wall fixtures will go a long way to increase the attractiveness of the area.

Hanging Fixtures

It is important to give considerable thought to the style and type of hanging fixtures, such as chandeliers and pendants, to use and particularly where to use them. Hanging fixtures can easily overpower a room, which may leave the impression that you are trying hard to impress your guest. This should be avoided at all costs. One of the most common areas that a chandelier or pendant is used for general lighting is in the dining room or large foyer. A guideline to consider is to make sure that the fixture is 7” to 13” smaller than the narrowest side of the Table. The bottom of the fixture should be at least 32” above the table. Be sure that the Lamps used in the ceiling fixture fully illuminate the eating area without making it too bright. Eating should be an intimate activity and the illumination

should accent the both the food and the guests.

Hanging fixtures are sometimes very attractive when hung in transitional areas and can often become a conversation piece if tastefully done. The goal in these areas is to create more decorative appeal than illumination. Therefore, understatement is more desirable. A pendant fixture will often serve this purpose particularly if it is simply designed with a great deal of eye appeal.

If your home has a foyer or entryway, it will clearly present a first impression that will carry through the rest of the home. Of all the locations, a carefully selected hanging fixture is of critical importance. Remember, besides providing basic illumination, you want the fixture to be a welcoming beacon for your guests. It is important that the chandelier or pendant fits the size requirements of the foyer or entryway. I’m suggesting that you take pains not to either under or over size the fixture. In some cases, you may have a stairway to the second level that overlooks the area where the chandelier or pendant is hung. Make sure that the fixture has good eye appeal from the second story perspective.

If your hanging fixture is being hung from an 8-foot ceiling, it should be positioned at least 6 ½’ to 7’ above the floor. When hanging your fixture from cathedral ceilings it should be suspended 3 inches higher for every additional foot over the standard 8-foot ceiling height.

An important decorating tip is to consider accent lighting such as wall sconces to complement the hanging fixtures particularly in large areas. Make sure that the styles match and that the wall sconce is mounted above eye level which will typically be 66” to 70”. It is important that the lamp is not visible when walking through the area.

Floor and Table Lamps

Strategic positioning of floor and table lamps is essential. While you want every part of your home adequately illuminated, less is better than more when it comes to floor and table lamps. The use of these fixtures should generally be reserved to areas used for visiting, reading and general socializing. Most of these fixtures are relatively inexpensive and good taste should prevail when buying these fixtures.

Floor and table lamps should be placed to create a triangle of light that does away with undesirable, shadowy nooks in sitting areas. Remember to keep lampshades just below eye level to avoid glare.

In future articles I’ll talk about recessed lighting, fluorescents, and novelty lighting

One last word: A fixture’s glass significantly affects the overall feel. For example, hammered glass lends a weathered, old-fashioned feel to a fixture while alabaster evokes modern, high-end fashion.

Tiffany Lamps Art Nouveau

Posted by: admin    in Bedside Table Lamps

tiffany lamps art nouveau

Inspirational Art Nouveau Interior Design Styles

The art nouveau style saw a fundamental change in interior design styles. Rather then using inspiration from the past designers began to look at the things around them to inspire some of the most wonderful furniture, lighting and patterns which make this particular style unique.

In the beginning people either loved it and embraced the designs with open arms or loathed it and said it would never become popular-the latter being very wrong! The art nouveau style saw a revival in the 1960s and again today in the 21st century interiors designers are still using some of the concepts within their interior styles.

Famous names associated with art nouveau are Charles Renie Macintosh who introduced wonderful patterns for wall papers and fabrics. It is for these designs he is probably most associated.

Louis Comfort Tiffany designed and created wonderful lighting using a host of different coloured glass in Table Lamp Shades on which the stands depicted nature and animals predominately.

Emille Galle designed fabulous furniture, ceramics and glass wear to compliment this new design fashion in the art nouveau style with influences from Rocco.

Rene Lalique glass wear and jewellery items are highly sought after in the auction rooms, with people hoping to find these exquisite pieces to add to their collections.

These ‘new’ designers believed in fine craftsmanship and quality but they also embraced and accepted mass production.

To achieve the art nouveau look in your home there are some key and fundamental ‘rules’ to be followed.

Floors should be parquet and stained or vanished. While Macintosh experiments with interiors which were ‘all white’ typically the colour tones were muted and comprised of sage greens, browns and mustard, combined with lilac, purple and peacock blue. Walls were either painted in one of the muted tones, ‘off white’ or papered with patterns inspired by nature and often included birds, particularly peacocks and dragonflies.

Macintosh is world famed for his high backed chairs with black gloss lacquer. However chairs upholstered in replicas of floral fabrics with muted tones would look in keeping with the art nouveau theme.

If you could afford a genuine Tiffany Lamp it would undoubtedly be the show case of the room, however this is highly unlikely for most! Reproduction Tiffany Lamps are widely available in the high street or online and are essential to achieve the art nouveau look.

Ornaments were glass, the opaly and pearlescent styles for which Lalique is famed, along with pewter and silver. Antiques shops and boot fairs are ideal places to find art nouveau ornaments which do not necessarily command a high price due to the mass production at the time.

To complete the art nouveau look the room should have plenty of flowers and peacock feathers which are one of the hallmarks of this interior design style.

Windows contained stained glass panels, these can been found at salvage yards if you are lucky or modern reproduction would work equally as well.

Art nouveau curtains should be unpretentious and include Mackintosh or William Morris designs which were similar to wall paper designs having linear lines or Morris styled floral designs which were inspired by his own garden.

Tiffany Lamp – Old Is Gold

Tiffany lamp came into the spotlight almost a century ago because they were built by hand by outstanding crafters. They appeared pretty for their figures. This was the time before commodities volume evolved by simple machines came in the market. Intricately contrived and cautiously crafted, the Lamps had a differentiating cast on them. Though the lamps go by the name of Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Tiffany lamp was in reality fashioned by Clara Driscoll who was the primary architect for evolving these leaded Glass Lamps with fanciful figure in them.

The Tiffany lamp is a component of the Nouveau Movement and has a mixture of glass shadows. What is exquisitely glorious is the stained leaded glass lamp.It is articulated that the wife of an industrialist –Meyer Cohen, asked him to position a stained glass in the window of the kitchen so that the vintage cars parked in the driveway of their neighbor cannot be seen. There were no designs to manufacture articles prepared of stained glass on a large scale and during earlier points, it stayed as a pursuit. Later however, the company- Mayed Tiffany came to be the leading producer of Tiffany lamp and assorted types of decorative lighting.

Transition to flowers, flowered cones, flowered globe lamps, asymmetrical lower and upper border lamps, geometric pattern and LCT lamps are the seven families of Tiffany Lamps. The Irregular Lower and Upper Border lamps simulate a tree, a shrub, or a tree branch. This is finished by an openwork crown edge formed on the lamps. The conventional class is established on conventional patterns like squares, rectangles, ovals, or triangles. The Transition to Flowers group is spread into the Globe and Flowered Cone designs. Floral or some different natural patterns like dragonflies, butterflies, peacock feathers or different flowers are prominent in these patterns. These two branches disagree just in cast. One is patterned after a globe and the other after a cone.

Lamps are created utilizing the Copper Foil method and oftentimes a great part of cardboard is employed to make the patterns presented by the designer. The shape piece is then noted by publishing the glass color and a typical number. The glass is then settled over the pattern and a tracing built on the glass. The bits are then cut down and their exact shape made by grating. The bits are then cleaned and copper foil solution implemented to the edges to enable the pieces to stick securely. After the pieces are met and all boundaries firmly bonded, the boundaries are soldered for strength. Before the lamps go out of the assembly line, they are made clean for a bright and pleasing visual aspect.
